What's New with Webon This Month

Recently, we completed a round of usability tests in which we observed how our members used Webon to build their websites. From those tests, we learned that our Control Panel could be more streamlined and easier to navigate. So, we went to work and made some changes for the better. You may have already noticed that we spruced things up a bit. If not, log in and take a looksee at the new and improved CP.

    New and Improved Add-ons

You asked, and we listened. We're pleased to tell you that we've introduced two of our most requested Add-ons:

New Poll and Cart Add-onsShopping Cart – Make money online with our easy-to-use shopping cart. Write product descriptions, add photos and set your prices. Accept payment using PayPal. Create multiple shopping carts too. The shopping cart is available only for members of our paid plans.

Poll – Find out what your website visitors are thinking. Create a poll on any topic you would like, keep track of votes and then display the results in an attractive pop-up window.

We also spiffed up the Form Creator Add-on. It now formats the responses you receive via email so they're easier to read.

The Page Counter add-on now counts only hits that are unique to the page it's on instead hits across all the sites in your account.

    Catching Up with CAPTCHA

We inked an agreement with Solve Media to test the company's new approach to CAPTCHAs, which is shorthand for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart."

In early trials, this new CAPTCHA, which uses ads instead of squiggly letters and numbers, has been well received by our users. The CAPTCHA is easy to solve, yet still serves the purpose of preventing spammers from posting links to dubious websites in comments and other nefarious activities.
