Webon 3.0 Upgrade Recap

The Webon upgrade rolled out earlier this week. We hope that you are finding this upgrade to be a vast improvement to your overall experience with Tripod and Webon. You should notice a few new enhancements in addition to overall improvements to the interface, text editor, and load time. For example, we have added a new feature called “Clear Text Formatting” to the Text Tools which comes in very handy when you paste pre-formatted text into Webon and you want to clean it up.

We have done extensive testing with the new editor in all the common web browsers to make sure that everything is in working as well as possible. We have tested Webon 3.0 with existing sites as well as brand new sites to ensure that it is error free. However if you find that there is a problem with your site, that something is not working as it used to, or you are running into any bugs please let us know. We are actively working on fixing anything that has been reported and making improvements as issues are brought to our attention. The best way to report any issues is from our Help & Support section on our website, however we will be checking Facebook, Twitter and the Tripod Community frequently for any reported problems.

New Webon Help Site

With the recent upgrade of Webon, we have also rolled out a new Webon Help Website. The new help site should answer many of the questions you have on how to use the text editor, tools, and add-ons. We have several articles and videos available now and we will be adding considerably more over the next couple of months.

We have created a survey that we hope you will take advantage of to provide us with your direct feedback on the Webon Help Website. We want to know if you find the articles and videos to be helpful, if there is anything that isn't covered that you would like to see information on, and how you would like to have the help files available to you going forward.

Did you know...

...that you can now search for files within Webon tabs? We have added a search feature to each tab that enables site owners to search each tab for a particular file. If you cannot find an image in the Media Tab, you can enter part or the entire file name to locate the desired image within the selected tab. For an example, please visit our Tips & Tricks Blog.

...that you can now clear text formatting in Webon? With the recent upgrade to Webon, a new feature has been made available. Clear Text Formatting allows you to revert your text back to the default text format for the selected style. This feature is also handy when you have pasted text from another source into the Site Builder and the formatting did not carry over correctly. Simply, select the text you wish to fix and click “Clear Text Formatting”. For an example, please visit our Tips & Tricks Blog.

In the Spotlight this Month: NF's Jamie McMurray Fan Site

The Jamie McMurray Fan Site is an unofficial site. It is maintained purely for fun as a hobby. It's clear that they have put quite a bit of work into making such a content-rich website. It's obvious how much they have enjoyed building the site and supporting their favorite NASCAR racer, Jamie McMurray This site is frequently visited by fans of NASCAR racing and in particular, by fans of Jamie. They have also linked their Tripod site to their Fanpage on Facebook from the homepage.

The Jamie McMurray Fan Site utilizes a number of the Tripod site building tools – the Site Builder, the HTML Editor, and the File Manager. In their words, "All are really cool, and have helped us to produce what we feel is a very nice website".

The site's owner goes on to say, "Although my site is mostly just a hobby, it is something I have put quite a bit of work into and really enjoy doing. In fact, I enjoy it so much that I keep it updated every week with race results. My site has had a decent amount of traffic considering the very limited advertising that I do for it. I have put a lot of my time into my site, and it would be an honor for my site to be spotlighted so many people can see what I've done."
